after that jumping off a cliff, we were under for a while, but we've resurfaced now, we're bouyant, and our lives and thoughts are becoming more solid. i'll try and spill some of them here as they spin out of my mind, but more likely will be what you're reading will be a recap from a cafejournal not the online spontaneity .

tunisian dating

one of the best things we like about being here in tunis are the dates. holden especially adores them, and, he is learning to make good on his "i have to go to the toilet please!" weewee and poop in exchange for dates. these ones we picked up at the central market which is kind of a a courtyard under the general store with 4 or 5 veggie sellers, a fish man, and a butcher. there is another veggie lady just around the corner from our house. everyday as we take holden to school, she comes waddling out from behind the counter and shoves a handful of dates at holden while stealing a kiss from him. he's no longer accepting the trade and prefers it if we pick up dates at the central market and take the round-about way to pre-school in the morning. otherwise, he's learning to play with other kids and though leary about sharing his ball, will gladly share other kids toys... could be a while before we all get over that one. not a huge post here, but a little slice of life on the tunisian dating scene. random piece of info - during ramadan, when muslims are fasting all day, a date is the traditional fast breaker.
